Course Details

Course: Solar cell Installation Safety

Principles and Rationale

Today, the installation of solar photovoltaic power generation systems (Solar Photovoltaic: Solar PV) is expanding continuously across the industrial, commercial building, and residential sectors. As a result, workers face several significant risks, such as working at height, falling from roofs, hazards from direct current (DC) and alternating current (AC) electricity, lifting and moving panels and equipment, the use of power tools, as well as risks from weather conditions and the work area.

This course is designed to build knowledge, skills, and a Safety Mindset among workers, so that they can install, inspect, and carry out work on solar cell systems safely, reduce the likelihood of accidents, injuries, and property damage, and promote work in accordance with safety standards and good working practices.

Objectives

  1. Understand the hazards and risks in installing solar cell systems

  2. Correctly identify hazards from AC/DC electrical work and their prevention

  3. Carry out work on roofs and at height safely

  4. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) and Fall Protection appropriately

  5. Analyze on-site risks using JSA / Toolbox Talk before starting work

  6. Understand emergency response guidelines and basic first aid for accidents involving electricity or falls from height

  7. Build a Safety Mindset and exercise Stop Work Authority when unsafe conditions are detected

Target Audience

  • Solar Rooftop / Solar Farm installation technicians

  • Engineers supervising electrical and solar power systems

  • Solar PV system installation contractors

  • Supervisors, work controllers, and maintenance teams

  • Safety Officers (จป.) involved in Solar installation work

Training Duration

1 day (6 hours)
Consisting of theory and practical sessions (Theory & Practical Workshop)

Participants will be able to carry out solar cell system installation work safely, understand the risks specific to Solar PV work, and be able to apply safety principles in practice in the work area.
